500, Cee'd and 308 with 5 stars!
The latest EuroNCAP test results are well promising regarding motorists safety, since 3 cars out of 4 got the maximum score for the passengers.
500 – Twingo 5-4!
The new Fiat 500 results stand out, thank to its 6 airbags on standard equipment it earns 5 EuroNCAP stars with a total score of 35 points. The rival Twingo stops to four stars, with a total score of 28 points. The Italian compact resist well on the frontal crash with 15 points versus the 11 of the rival; even score for the lateral crash, with 16 points for both.
Even with the sophisticated style, Fiat 500 get a great score on the pedestrian protection, 14 points against 11 of the new Twingo. This evaluation has a great importance since only recently the car manufacturers started to do researches and development on the pedestrian protection.
308 and cee'd
Full points for both Peugeot 308 and Kia cee'd (first car of the Korean manufacturer that got such result). Both in the C segment show the ability to absorb the frontal crash, with 13 points for the la cee'd and 14 for the French rival, while for the lateral crash they got both 16 points. Peugeot 308 excel on the pedestrian protection (19 vs 11) and the children protection (39 vs 37). Nevertheless the final score for both is identical, 34, because the crash on pedestrian and the child protection are not incorporated on the valuation.
