A brand new proposal for Alfa Romeo top class sedan

During the recent Analyst Day Fiat Baravalle's words for sure excited all Alfa fans' souls. Now Alfa's plannings for the future are clear, even if we still have to be still a little bit patient.
After talking about Alfa 149 and 4C Junior, in the following text we are now focusing on the new Italian flagship: Alfa Romeo 169, a desirable model which is going to replace the already out-of-date 166.

A Premium platform
The starting basis is supposed to be that of a Premium, together with Maserati Quattroporte.
Therefore the car will be powered by a front engine and a transaxle scheme, but someone also talks about the front traction.
New Alfa Romeo 169 will be powered by new V6 fuel and diesel engines, which still are going to be developed, and by a new V8 unit, in the top version, which comes from 8C Competizione, combined with authomatic transmission.

Hypothetical design
As far as design is concerned, we do not know anything yet, as Alfa 169 is completely veiled: no photos, no sketches, no descirptions, so we can only use our imagination to dare to suggest a possible look for the future car.

The new Italian flagship could have definately sports and muscular shapes, especially for the hood which look quite cutting-edge.

It's coming
According to previews from Alfa Romeo car manufacturer, the debut of the new flagship is supposed to be on 2009; in spite of it, as Fiat Auto Team is running, we do ot exclude 169 could be launched in advance though, even at the end of 2008...
