Ecological Power and Speed!

Today we want to propose you the most powerful road version of the Lotus Exige ever made...the Exige 265E, which runs on friendly Bio Fuel! The English factory wanted to show how a clean engine can ensure great performances by using an ecological fuel like bioethanol, a new mixture quite popular in the Nordic Countries but still hard to find in Italy.

What is Bioethanol E85?
E85 is an alcohol fuel mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, by volume. Ethanol derived from crops (bioethanol) is a biofuel.
E85 as a fuel is widely used in Sweden and is becoming increasingly common in the United States, mainly in the Midwest where corn is a major crop and is the primary source material for ethanol fuel production.

Ecological but still exciting
This 4 cylindres engine can reach 265 hp by using common gas, while indeed 268 hp using bioethanol (with a maximum torque of 249 Nm at 5.500 rpm).
Lotus Exige, as we know, is a great, lightweight performance car, so combining alluminium chassis with engine's great characteristics we obtain thrilling top speed (158 mph) and acceleration ( 0-60 mph in 3.88 seconds, 0-100 mph in 9.2 seconds).
