The family car with a powerful ecological injection!

After its debut in Venice, media's attention obviously focused on the new Lancia Delta. Anyway there is another model from the Italian factory, a very appreciated car that, together with the renewed Ypsilon, has been pulling Lancia's sales up for years. Its name is Lancia Phedra, an elegant van as graceful as comfortable, which soon should get some changements towards that family feeling introduced by Lancia Concept HPE.

A sporty look
The most clear restyling concerns the front, the most important element for a car's design. New Delta's radiator grill perfectly fits on Phedra's silhouette, as you can see from our digital elaboration, making this van definetely fascinating: curved hood, chromed radiator grill and the new bumper shape give this van an Italian touch of dynamism.
Judging from the style choices of the competitors, this seems to be the right way to follow: a sporty look even for vans.
But it's not all. Not only the front looks sporty, as you can see looking at the exhaust, which is now hidden by the bumper. This solution makes the car both elegant and original.

Engines
If we analyse the variety of engines available for Lancia Phedra, we can notice some gaps that could be filled by the launch of Phedra Facelift. For example, a gas engine misses: with the new Fiat engines a good solution could be represented by a direct injection. And if we also add a supercharger, we can obtain good performances and reduced fuel consumptions. What is still missing is a bifuel version (methane or GPL) understimated by Fiat management, even if this way perfectly fits with Lancia Phedra.
Phedra's diesel engines are great, and the customer can choose three different power steps. It would be better, in our opinion, to adopt a more powerful engine:except for the V6 JTD solution, the choice could be a 5 cilindres 2.4, obviousely renewed. That's a good alternative for everyone who's not satisfied by the 136 hp developed by the Mjet.

Go Lancia!
That's what we wish for the new Lancia Phedra, for such a glorious but misunderstood brand. Now things seem to go to the right way, thanks to the launch of the new Delta HPE...but we are still dreaming Pangea and Fulvia Coupè...
